Ross Juniors Under 11s suffered another defeat recently, against the Pegasus Colts U11s, but the team showed a great spirit in fighting back from two goals down, only to concede a late winner.

It was a poor first half for the home side, but they had a couple of chances early on with JT and Eddie just missing the target before they went behind after conceding a penalty.

Ross went further behind with a great strike from an acute angle, but came close to reducing the deficit twice, with Eddie shooting narrowly wide on both occasions.

A change of tactics for the second half saw a much improved team performance, although Roo was called upon to make a great save early on to keep Ross from falling further behind.

The home side started to put pressure on their opponents, and made the deserved breakthrough with a brilliant strike from JT, following good work down the left from Harvey. Ross continued to create chances and soon levelled when Niall turned in Sol’s excellent cross.

As Ross continued to dominate the game, it looked like there would only be one winner, but a defensive mix up saw a stranded Roo lobbed from 30 yards but, thankfully for the hosts, the ball struck the post, but another mix up was unfortunately punished.

As Ross pushed for the equaliser, both Harvey and Josh came close to getting on the scoresheet in the final minutes, but it wasn’t to be. The final score was 3 - 2 to the Pegasus Colts.

The Harley Finishings man of the match was Theo Roblin who defended brilliantly.
