Although the score-line flattered the visitors, Ross Juniors Under 16s were well below their best playing local rivals Pegasus from Hereford, and ended up on the receiving end of a four-nil defeat.
The Juniors had started brightly, and were on top for the first 15 minutes, with the majority of the possession.
Both Owain and Aaron came close with shots from the edge of the box, but Ross couldn’t convert their early dominance into goals.
Against the run of play, Pegasus scored their first goal with a smart piece of counter-attacking, but the Juniors were still in the game with Joel on excellent form up front.
Half time saw the score at one-nil, and the game still looked theirs for the taking, but two Pegasus goals midway through the second half gave the Juniors a mountain to climb.
There were good performances throughout the Ross team with Aurinas and Will indefatigable in defence, and Wilf and Jacob tried their hardest to create chances for the forwards.
While the Juniors were missing key players, with Kane stepping up to replace regular goalie Brandon, they didn’t take their chances early on and couldn’t hold Pegasus once they got into their game going.
