Rosso-on-Wye Juniors Football girls Under 9 team were invited to play in the Birmingham City Ladies Football Club sister club tournament on Sunday, July 17th.

Playing in the under 10 section was a big ask of the girls but they did very well on a boiling hot day. They reached the semi finals where they went out to the eventual winners, the Ross Juniors Under 10 team.

Ross were missing key players Alisha, Gracie, Violet and Izzy The Ross team consisted of Nelly, Jenna, Hazel, Amelie, Scarlet, Ruby, Amy, Ivy and Emily. Ross coach Carl was very proud of the girls’ efforts and work-rate on a very hot sunny day and also of their confidence to look to pass the ball around against girls bigger and older then them.

He said that the William Beven girl of the tournament was awarded to each and every one of the nine girls who all contributed to a wonderful run to the semi finals.
