Ross Juniors Under 9s booked their place in the semi-finals of the Hillmans Cup by resoundingly beating Westfields at home.

Jakson, continuing his fine run of form, punting in the first goal within 30 seconds.

Tom, defending on the left and right as required, kept the Westfields attacks at bay.

Niall was denied by their keeper early on, but it was Jakson again, supplied by Luca, who got the second.

Charlie, on the left wing, was a constant threat, having one shot saved, before Jakson played him in which he converted for the third goal of the game.

Gabriel fed Jakson a pin point long pass, but his shot glanced off the cross bar. This was followed up by a ricochet off the post moments later.

Toby, in defence, continued to snuff out their attacks. When they did break through, both Fin and later Louis, had the safe hands necessary to keep the score in Ross’ favour.

Westfields grew into the game in the second half. Dylan was forced into a lovely back heel pass when up against their midfield.

Westfields managed to get a goal back, but at that point, Luca turned up the energy level, carving through their defence like a knife through butter to set up Charlie for the fourth goal.

Zak and Archie continued to hassle Westfields with their darting runs and twisting turns.

Tom, from within the Ross half, attempted an audacious Beckham-eqsue kick that was only just palmed away by their keeper.

Ross’ confidence is sky high and the team relish the forthcoming semi-final.
