Ross Juniors U11G played in the County Futsal in their first final of the season on Thursday night.
The game was only re-arranged last Monday, as it had to be postponed twice due to the Beast from the East.
All the girls played brilliantly and came back from a 3-0 scoreline with six minutes to go, to score two wonderful goals, the first from Jenna, quickly followed up by another from Scarlett.
Although time ran out before they could equalise, all the girls took opportunities to try to score, including defenders, Violet and Hazel. Usual goalie Ruby swapped with Amber and she played up front with Alisha to continue the attack.
Ross had all the momentum in the closing minutes, but despite their valiant efforts, couldn’t improve on the 3-2 final score.
Although they narrowly lost to a strong Leominster side who have played together as a team for many years, the girls all held their heads up high as this was an awesome achievement for a squad which were newly formed in September last year.
They now look forward the final of the football County Cup to be played in May.
The club said: “Well done girls!”
