Ross Juniors Under 15s enjoyed a successful tour to a rather wet Paris. Linking up with fellow Midland Junior Premier League team Kinver Colts, the Juniors travelled to the PGL centre at Grande Romaine, just south of the French capital in the village of Lésigny. Conditions were challenging to say the least, as Paris was suffering its heaviest rainfall for decades with many landmarks under threat as the Seine rose ever higher. The Juniors themselves were almost trapped when the rising river levels threatened to flood the car park where the team bus was waiting.

Ross took part in two tournaments alongside Kinver against local French youth teams from the Paris suburb of Charenton-le-Pont where the matches were taking place. The Juniors played very well and despite the wet weather brought off a flood of goals. The team were unbeaten in the final tournament, with Owain, Joel, Luke, Elliott and Joel all finding the net.Although a draw in the final meant that Ross had to share the trophy with Kinver, the boys felt they were the moral victors having gone unbeaten throughout.

Ross Juniors are grateful to several important sponsors who are helping make the event memorable for all the boys taking part. They’d like to thank K & S Site Service Limited, JS Carpets, Cutter Electrical, Vanstone Building and Consultancy, Taylor Lane Timber Frame Limited and Marches Building Supplies for their ongoing and invaluable sponsorship.

This week the Juniors are competing in The Welsh International Super Cup, an internationally acclaimed football tournament held in Cardiff as part of their ongoing pre- season preparations.
