Two consecutive home games over the last couple of weeks, saw Ross Juniors dominant in both.

Playing Bobblestock Bulls for the second time this season, Ross were quick out of the blocks. Archie getting into space on the left wing poked the ball through to Luca, who opened the scoring. Zak followed with an audacious lob that was just palmed away by the keeper.

Gabriel, in defence, calmly passed from the back to Todd and, with a quick one-two with Luca, enabled Luca to get his second goal.

From a goal mouth scramble, Luca got his hattrick, with the goalie forced to fumble and concede the third goal. Niall, always alert in the Bobblestock box, had a shot pushed away, but Archie was on hand to smash it into the top corner from close range.

Isaac was forced into a rare save as Bobblestock grew in confidence but Ross reasserted themselves with Thomas getting the fifth, followed by Zak getting the sixth to round of a compelling display.

The next game against Orleton Blacks started cagily, with both teams probing each other’s defences. Isaac made the first save of the game, smartly smothering the ball.

Despite an evenly balanced start, Ross made the breakthrough with Todd poking one in after a frantic goal mouth scramble. Niall then had a shot saved, with Todd lobbing over the bar just afterwards. Ross were unlucky not to get the second from yet another goal mouth scramble.

Gabriel, with a lovely Cruyff turn, got the ball from their attack and found Zak, who then picked out Niall to get Ross’ second. Luca’s snap shot went straight in for the third, just before half time.

Luca carried on at the start of the second half, sliding in the fourth. Ross were now rampant, with Luca getting Ross’ fifth goal, an almost exact repeat of the previous one. The game began to turn again with Isaac making a number of key saves, one he instinctively palmed away whilst laying prone on the ground. Zak, with an audacious shot from the half way line, was palmed over the bar. Orleton however, did end up getting a consolation goal but Ross ended the game winning decisively.
