Weston maintained their 100% winning record when they played league leaders Sling on Saturday at Weston in the North Glos Div 4.

From the kick off Weston pushed Sling and were 2-0 up before half time. James Reid opened the scoring with a great header. Next to score was Wes Parker, with a great free kick 20 yards out, the Sling goalkeeper helped by leaving most of his left side open for Wes to shoot at.

In the second half Sling pushed Weston but they found Dan Morris in good form in the Weston goal. He had to pull off a couple of fine saves when the Sling player went through and was one on one with Dan.

Weston’s back four of Arron Sussons, Carl Roberts, Shane Bruton and Paul Greenhill played well against some lively Sling players. The midfield four of Zak Neville, Darron Smith, Wes Parker and Chris Baverstock all worked hard. James Reid and Jack Wright gave the Sling defence lots of problems.

Two changes were made, Adam Jewitt coming on for Zak, and Mark Parnham on for the injured James Reid. With both teams really not producing any clear chances, a shot from Jack Wright was deflected by the Sling defender to make it 3-0.

The Dunbar man of the match went to Dan Morris for a great display.
