Ross-on-Wye Juniors U10s got back to winning ways with a brilliant performance in a 4-1 win at home to Golden Valley on Saturday.

Ross got off to a flying start and were unfortunate as Eddie Price’s header went in off the post but the referee failed to see the ball cross the line.

Shortly after, Luca Morgan teed up Eddie to put Ross one up. Ross continued to pile on the pressure as Bill fired a shot over the bar before setting up Eddie’s second goal.

Ross continued to dominate the play, and Eddie came close to completing a first half hat-trick, but saw his header cleared off the line.

The half time break didn’t interrupt the home side’s dominance as they took the initiative once again. Following a great run and pass from Theo Roblin, Luca smashed the ball home to make it 3–1 and he almost added another soon after but shot narrowly wide.

Golden Valley struggled to create clear chances, as Jacob and Josh defended brilliantly, restricting the visitors to long shots but David Mason was comfortable in the Ross goal.

A bit of magic from Harvey Gwillim helped earn Ross a penalty, he collected the ball on halfway and dribbled past four players only, tripped inside the penalty area to prevent him scoring. But Jake made no mistake from the spot to put Ross 4–1 up.

Ross finished strongly with Jake going close from a free kick, before Eddie was brought down in the penalty area following a mazey run. Unfortunately the penalty was missed but it didn’t take anything away from a very good team performance.

The Masons Fencing & Firewood Man of the Match went to Josh for his brilliant defending.
