Ross Royals U11s travelled to Ledbury on Saturday and followed the Juniors’ win with a good win of their own, beating Ledbury 4-1.

The Royals started the better of the two teams but fell behind thanks to a freak goal from a corner. Ollie came close to equalising from Harvey’s centre but was then denied by a great save by the Ledbury keeper. Ledbury threatened to extend their lead but Owen made a couple of saves in the Ross goal to keep it 1 – 0 at half time.

Early in the second half Luca rattled the Ledbury crossbar, before Ollie grabbed a deserved equaliser. The Royals soon went ahead when Harvey played in Ollie and, when his shot was well saved, Owen R was on hand to find the back of the net. The visitors were now dominating and Ollie added his second with a rare right foot shot that went through the keeper’s legs.

Some neat play between Ollie and Luca set up a great chance for Owen R, but his shot went narrowly wide.

Late on, Cedar added a fourth goal to wrap up a good win, and he almost scored another goal as he was expertly set up by Ethan.

With two goals and an assist, the Royals’ man of the match was Ollie Phillips.
