Teams from Ross Juniors played well at the Tupsley Football Festival on Sunday, June 2nd, returning to Ross feeling proud of their efforts.

Tupsley Girls FC held their annual 6-a-side with over 45 teams in attendance from across Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, South Wales and West Midlands. The tournament hosted at Gorsty Lane in Hereford is one of the highlights of the girls’ tournament scene, and Ross Juniors always send a large amount of teams to it.

The U8 Girls had a great performance displayed some great teamwork. They had a great day playing lots of football. Both the U12 Juniors and Colts were outstanding at the Tupsley tournament; the Colts, who are all Year Six girls, were amazing, not losing a game in eight group matches, playing some brilliant football throughout.

The Juniors narrowly won the final 2-0 but so brilliant to see an all Ross final, with both teams deserving to win. The U10 Colts at Tupsley also did fantastically, Ross Juniors reported. Coaches, Nick and Dave, were very pleased with the girls’ efforts and the standard of football played against many older teams.

Kevin and Basil’s U10 Juniors were also at same tournament and impressed with some great football too.

Ross Juniors U14 girls were split into two teams, and both did brilliantly, enjoying the experience of playing tournament football. They made it to the final only narrowly losing to Hinton at the end.

A spokesperson for Ross Juniors congratulated the girls’ efforts and told the Ross Gazette that there was a great effort from all of the teams.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
