The Royal Forest of Dean Cycling Club will host their first ever Cyclocross event on Sunday, November 20th.

The inaugural event is taking place at Worcester Lodge in Coleford and is part of the Western League Cyclocross series.

For those who have never heard of Cyclocross, it is cycling off-road on a racing bike. The event kicks off at 10.30am with an under 10s race, followed by a under 12s race.

This class is free to enter and would be an ideal way for youngsters to sample this type of competitive racing.

Following this, there will be an under 16s race, which costs £7 to enter, and then the main Junior, Senior, Vet’s and Women’s event at midday. Entry to these events are £18 if you are not a British Cycling Licence holder, or £15 if you are.

Event organiser, Digby Rusling said: “The course offers something for everyone and is a little different to the ones used on other Western League events”
