Ross Juniors Sunday convincingly beat Orleton at home 4-0. Ross had the strong wind behind them as they kicked off and immediately put the visitors on the back foot.
It was Ross who were creating chances and Sam Loftus, Damon Beaumont and Ted Loftus went close in the early stages.
So it was no surprise that Ross took the lead in the 16th minute in somewhat fortuitous circumstances. Eli Wooding, playing on the wing, cut in and let loose a low shot from 29 yards that somehow should had been easy for the goalie to save, but somehow he spilled it into the net much to his embarrassment.
The second goal for Ross came from a terrific ball from Adam Beaumont, his 50 yard pass picked out his much older brother Damon and he used his muscle and pace to win the ball and thump the ball past the despairing keeper.
Right on half time Damon Beaumont raced down the right and crossed for the advancing Eli Wooding but his header was pushed away for a corner.Just as the opposition thought they had coped reasonably well with the home teams relentless pressure, Ross brought on three substitutes. These were Andrew Densley, Liam Davies and Carl Roberts, all players who would start for most teams in this league. This shows the quality and depth of squad that Ross has when everyone is available.
