Everyone at Gorsley Goffs Primary School is proud and delighted that the school has achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2017/18 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and Gorlsey Goffs is delighted to have been recognised for their success.

Their sporting achievements this year include winning the 2017/18 Herefordshire Primary School of the Year for P.E and Sport. The pupils at Gorsley Goffs have participated in 33 different sporting events at 15 venues and in total Gorsley Goffs have won seven trophies, 92 medals and 21 rosettes in a variety of sporting events.

With the vast majority of young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, the school is extremely proud of their pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, as well as those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made the competitions possible.

As part of the application, the school was asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and the hard work of everyone has been rewarded. The school is very grateful to all the staff, coaches and volunteers who have helped run extra curricular sporting clubs and the parents for their dedication and enthusiasm towards all aspects of school sport.
