Ross travelled away to face a youthful Cheltenham C team in their first game since the Christmas interval as last week's fixture fell victim to the weather. Ross knew this game would be a lot harder than the same fixture earlier in the season where Ross ran out clear victors 19 - 0.

From the first whistle Cheltenham were up in their faces scrapping for every ball. Eventually Ross managed to get their passing going, if only for short periods of time, and took the lead through a Tom Walton corner when he drilled the ball between the legs of the Cheltenham keeper. Within a couple of minutes it was 2 - 0 when veteran striker Adrian Williams slotted the ball into a open net.

The Ross players were given a reality check when, in the search for more goals, centre backs Luke Ward and Sam Warner were caught absent without leave, as Laurence Raasch was unable to intercept the through ball straight down the middle of the pitch and the Cheltenham striker rounded the on-rushing Andrew Ridgway in the Ross goal to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

For the next ten minutes Ross had to withstand a barrage of Cheltenham attacks but managed to see the period out. In true counter attacking style caught Cheltenham on the break and David Skyrme, promoted to right midfield, slapped the ball past the keeper from the top of the D.

Ross went into the half time interval at 3 - 1 knowing they still had see out the second half to claim the three points.

The second half belonged to young Edward Goldsmith making only his 3rd appearance for the 1st XI as he bagged himself two goals, the first to make the score 4 - 1 then he finished the game off with by scoring in the last second of the game to make the final score 7 - 1

The other goals came from recently engaged Jamie Caulfield and Tom Walton.

The South Herefordshire Motorcaravans Man of the Match was awarded to Edward Goldsmith for his two goals and overall performance.
