With the snow having gone, it was back to normal at the South Herefordshire Golf Club.

The penultimate round (Greensomes) of the South Herefordshire Seniors’ Winter League saw Fred Cook and Simon Rutter (sub) win with a stableford score of 42pts. In second place were Mike Boucher and Roy Pipe with 40pts and Peter Chapman and Eifion Rees were in third place with 39pts.

The overall table going in to the final round which will be a combined stableford competition as follows:

1st Fred Cook and Brian Spencer 168pts, 2nd Mike Boucher and Roy Pipe 166pts, 3rd Peter Chapman and Eifion Rees 163pts, 4th Marin Latham and Brian Carver 158pts.

The monthly winter Club stableford competition saw a number of extraordinary scores as a result of temporary greens. Brian Foley with five birdies and eight pars scored a massive 52pts, five shots ahead of Jeremy Parkes.

The results were as follows: Division 1, 1st Brian Foley 52pts, 2nd Jeremy Parkes 47pts, 3rd Christopher Burgess 44pts. Division 2, 1st Ian Corbitt 43pts, 2nd Tony Haile 43pts, 3rd John Arrowsmith 42pts.
