The last week has continued to see yet more successful events at South Herefordshire Golf Club.
Saturday saw the Captain’s Charity Day in aid of Pancreatic Cancer, where a large field of members and guests had not just an excellent day of golf but also raised a further £700 towards Paul Stone’s charity fund. Terrific weather matched the superb state of the course with some memorable performances and appropriately a significant score of 41 points from the captain playing off five, with seven birdies, yet still this wasn’t enough to win. The team competition was won with a score of 120 by Dave Peachey, Shaun Lloyd, Ashley Mortimer and Andrew Dee.
Similarly, the second Senior captain’s away day was held earlier in the week at Stinchcombe GC. A great time was had by all with good weather and a fast running course contributing to the day.
The monthly Junior Stableford was one more a very close-run event with Ruth Bradford just edging out Harrison Middleton on count back.
Within the Ladies section a new Flag Competition was held this week and the trophy, donated by Ladies Section member, Janet Howe, was presented to the winner, Nicky Klaiber.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
