The South Herefordshire Seniors’ Captain’s ‘Drive-In’ was supported by 56 members who took part in a Greensomes competition.
The winning pair were Jon Wynne and Ian Corbitt with a score of 40 points, beating Mike Proctor and Simon Rutter on count back. Steve Mills won the challenge of predicting the length of the Captain’s drive, which ended up in the bunker.
The seniors won their first home match of the season 5-3 against Nauton Downs. Captain Fred and his partner, Richard Hoare led from the front in winning their match 2&1. The other victorious pairs were: Mike Bain and Ian Corbitt 4&3; Geoff Eyres and Keith Nind 4&2; Peter Sawyer and Malcolm Connah 3&2 and Roger Barnes and Tony Haile 4&2.
There were losses for Barry Howells and John Wynne 4&2, John Barnett and David Rippe 2&1 and Eifion Rees and Mike Bishop 2&1. Eifion Rees won the nearest the pin competition.
