The final round of the South Herefordshire Seniors Winter League saw Malcolm Connah and Peter Sawyer successful with a combined stabelford score of 69 points, and the runners up were Jon Tecke and Rene Eichhorn with 66 points.

However, the main battle for the winter league trophy was the contest between the two pairs who had led the league from the start. Peter Chapman and Ray Causon went in to the final round with a lead of 2 points over Laurie Cork and Eifion Rees. Cork & Rees soon clawed back the difference and were 1 up at the turn.

The back 9 proved to be a disaster for Cork & Rees, as Chapman & Causon extended their lead. Chapman, Cork and Rees each scored 28 points with Causon making a name for himself with an excellent round of 37 points. The final table read:

1st Peter Chapman and Ray Causon 223 points.

2nd Laurie Cork and Eifion Rees 212 points.

3rd Roger Barnes and Keith Nind 206 points.
