During the past 12 months, Kim Hampson, Club Captain of Ross Golf Club, has been at the helm, organising various fundraising golfing initiatives for members so that his chosen charity could benefit accordingly.
To the credit of all concerned, the final total raised was an impressive £3,750 and the Reverend Richard Buckley, a senior member of the Research Advisory Committee for Prostate Cancer UK, accepted the cheque on behalf of Prostate Cancer UK.
Richard said: “On behalf of Prostate Cancer UK I am delighted to accept this cheque from the Ross-on-Wye Golf Club. This is a magnificent sum and represents an tremendous effort by members of the Club to support the very important work undertaken by the charity in pursuing more research into the prevention, treatment and cure of Prostate Cancer in the UK.
“Thanks are due to all concerned in raising this sum which will be put to very good use.”
Kim’s successor, Robert Tuttiett, recently took over the reins as 2018 Ross Club Captain and was at hand to take part in the presentation. In 12 month’s time the British Heart Foundation will be the beneficiaries as a result of various ’helping others’ activities planned.
