ROSS Juniors claimed victory in the annual North Gloucestershire County Juniors League Team Championships last week.

The event was held at Brickhampton Golf Club, with 13 teams, each containing four players, taking part, two of these teams hailed from Ross.

Ross’ A team convincingly took the title with 146 beating off competition from the Cotswold Hills by three points.

It was a true team performance with Niall Powell and Cam Haines contributing 38 points each, Brad Knapper with 37 points and late replacement Jack Campbell with 33 points.

The Ross Junior A Team headed the final league table to be crowned 2015 County League Junior Champions and receive the Championship Salver and Individual.

The Ross Juniors B team, containing experienced Juniors Ted Williams and Harry Griffiths, with emerging youngsters Charlie Smith and Ryan McGinlay, were also in the hunt until Charlie was forced to retire through illness and their ultimate 90 points was hardly reflective of their splendid endeavours.
