The South Herefordshire Seniors away match at Naunton Downs was a very close encounter, the result being decided with the last put of the match. It was Vice Captain Bob Chance, partnered by Gerry Newman, who holed out to win their match on the last green.

The first match out saw Captain Rees and partner, Burgess, throw away a three hole lead with four holes to play. Both missed crucial puts to record a victory however, they had to be satisfied with a half.

The second match saw a comfortable win for Steve Mills and Tony Haile, 7&6. There was also a win for Vin Kilty and Jim Delahay with Mike Boutcher and Richard Hammett halving their match.

Geoff Eyres and Steve Sawyer, Peter Chapman and Dave Rippe and Mike Boucher and Graham Baum lost their encounters. In the end the match ended 4-4. A creditable result as Nauton Downs are unbeaten at home this season.

The mid-week fun competition, Florida Scramble was won by Peter Atkins, Roger Barnes and Terry Tillotson with a gross score of 70-4.4= 65.6 net. Runners up were John Tecke, Brian Carver and Babar Zaidi 71-4.9= 66.1.
