Sixty members of the seniors section of South Herefordshire Golf club enjoyed a very successful Texas scramble followed by an excellent dinner and festive celebrations.

The winners of the golf with a score of 65.5 were Malcolm Connah, Ian Corbitt and Barrie Freeman. The runners up with a score of 65.7 were Phil Bundy, Ray Causon and Tony Hawker-Bond.

Laurie Cork, Roger Watkins and Ashley Letts came third with 65.8 pts. John Duvall, the seniors captain, thanked the members for their support throughout the year and in particular for such a great turn out for the Christmas party.

John was extremely pleased with the fundraising events during the year for his charity - Dementia Care, in particular to Keith Nind for his sponsored walk from Lake Geneva to Chamonix. He presented a cheque for £1,620 to the trust, accepted by Keith Nind on their behalf.

Members of the senior section contributed to the after dinner entertainment - Malcolm Connah and David Rippe (duet) with individual acts performed by Fred Cook and Chris Burgess, who paid tribute to Peter Litchfield who was leaving after a long association with the club.

Peter was the leading light in the formation of the in house group ‘The Banditos’ who performed their sing along during the second half of the celebrations. The group members were Peter Lichfield, Terry Gibson and Tony Morris.
