Last week the frost certainly lay deep, crisp and even as the intrepid lady golfers of Ross set out to play their annual Christmas nine hole Bowmaker competition.
The festive occasion kept spirits high with plenty of thermal layers bedecked with a tasteful selection of seasonal accessories including earmuffs, earrings and even snow-capped antlers, all designed to give cheer to the faint- hearted.
After a summer of soggy fairways it was a delight to see the ball careering on in a fine, albeit, unpredictable manner.
The highlight of the day was the delicious Christmas lunch that followed, courtesy of Ian and Karen, and it was enjoyed by 89 ladies. After lunch the festivities continued with a rousing carol concert given by the Ledbury based choir 'Sounds Familiar'.
