Luke Jones was at Donington Park recently riding his Triumph 675, sponsored by Acumen Industrial Services, Hereford, in Round 10 of the Superbike Championship.

Luke, who has many supporters in the Ross-on-Wye area, now rides in the Supersport Class. He had practise on Friday, September 16th, and finished seventh quickest.

Saturday was qualifying and Luke was ninth quickest, which put him on the third row of the grid for the race in the afternoon, a sprint race over 10 laps.

Luke had a good start but had a few handling problems during the race and finished seventh.

On Sunday warm up sessions took place in the morning, ready for the main race run over 18 laps.

In the afternoons Luke began on the third row of the grid and made a good start, he moved up to sixth place at the half-way mark and held that position to the chequered flag.

The next meeting for Luke is at Assen, Holland on October 1st and 2nd.
