Goodrich ’C’hasers travelled to Boughton Park, who had already sealed second place in Division 6 of the H & W Summer League, on Sunday, 19th August.
Owing to the perfect conditions, the ’C’hasers were lucky enough to get their first experience of playing on Boughton’s grass courts.
First pair, Kayla Coopey and Katie Hunt, were unfortunate not to win their first rubber against their opposite number, losing the first set 7-5.
They came back with renewed vigour to take the second set 6-4. However, the Boughton pair proved too strong and took the deciding set 6-4.
In the second rubber, Kayla and Katie refocused and took the two sets 6-2/6-2, earning the team two valuable points.
Second pair, Shani Courtney and Debbie Trigg, enjoyed some good tennis against both of the Boughton pairings. Although they lost both of their rubbers, they enjoyed the experience of match play tennis whilst improving and growing their skills on the court.
