On a busy Saturday May 25th, which saw a charity Junior football tournament and Circus Ginnett at Ross Sports Centre, Ross CC First XI entertained Alveley CC at The Park. It was a perfect day for cricket with glorious, long-awaited sunshine.
On winning the toss Alveley's captain, Will Rodenhurst, elected to bat first. A decision he quickly regretted when his was the first wicket to fall when he was caught in the gully by James Tiffen off the bowling of Harry Porter with the score on 14.
The next wicket to fall was that of Richard Twigg (9) when he was well caught by Lucas Abbott, in the deep, again off the bowling of Harry Porter. Dave Jones and Jason Glazier set about building a partnership and moved the score on to 80, but Glazier (24) was caught and bowled by Christiaan Ferreira.
