The Area 9 Pony Club Postal Shoot final scores have been received and after four months of pistol shooting, South Hereford & Ross Harriers Pony Club had a total of 10 members have competing in this event which ran over the winter months.

Four members were placed in the top six in different age categories with a number of others only missing out by a narrow margin. The competition was stiff with in excess of 120 shooters taking part from numerous pony clubs.

Congratulations go to Jay Tolley and Harry Carver who competed in this event for the first time. At the start of the event Jay had been shooting for less than a year and Harry for a grand total of two months.

Both boys have worked hard throughout the competition and have trained with super coaches, Mike Phillips and Chris Norton, of Ross-on-Wye Target Shooting Club, achieving 5th and 6th places respectively in the eight and nine year-old-boys’ class.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
