Harry Friend, was determined to compete in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Junior County Closed Annual tennis tournament despite devastating news.
The twelve-year-old found out that his auntie, who he described as his ‘second mum’, had passed away the day before.
He fought through several rounds of difficult matches to take the U12 singles title beating Max Hingley, from Edgbaston, in the final.
He dedicated his win to Tracey Warwick, who died on Saturday 22nd August following a short illness.
Tracey had herself won various County Closed titles as a junior.
