The Ross CC 10 mile time trial at Old Gore was run in the usual summer conditions of some wind and rain giving a little assistance on the return from Preston Cross. 15 riders took part and many showed improvements in performance.

The race was won by Dave Harwood whose Sunvelo camp must have done him good with a time of 25m39s beating Steve Millard by three seconds, a great ride by Dave for first time out this year. Race secretary Paul Stephens was next up with 26m18s with Max Suff in hot pursuit at seven seconds. Graham Carter managed almost a minute better than last time out with fifth place and a time of 27m08s closely chased by Nick Philpot of N Tec racing (first of the road bikes) in 27m21s.

Next up were the Climb On twins, Andy Turner and Tom Knight on 27m06s and 27m08s respectively. Neil Crofts did well on another road bike with 28m20s. James Wilson came spinning up the last climb to record 28m27s with Bob Hill on his first race outing of the season rewarding him with a 28m39s ride.

Richard Harrington improved by over a minute and a half with a 29m35s, Nigel Skyrme giving chase almost averaging 20mph to come in with 30m02s. Gary Downs turned in a respectable 30m41s with an improving Paul Middleton coming home in 30m59s.
