Two South Herefordshire riders have won through to the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) finals.

Llangarron’s, Evie Lawson, and Fownhope’s, Angus Macfarlane, will be competing at Bury Farm in Buckinghamshire in April.

The two riders are among six county pupils at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools who picked up medals and trophies in the qualifying competition at Kings Equestrian Centre in Herefordshire.

Individual rider Madeleine Taylor, from Carey, tasted victory in the 1m class, while Charlotte Cole was part of the team who won the 90cms team event.

Madeleine Taylor teamed up with sisters Ellie and Charlotte Cole, both from Allensmore, to take third spot in the 1m team event.

Evie Lawson, Angus Macfarlane and Carey’s Annie Taylor were part of the schools’ 70cms class team who also qualified for the finals after coming fifth.

Team manager, Camille Geisz, a keen rider and Classics teacher at Monmouth School for Girls, was delighted to see the riders progress from the regionals. This is an amazing achievement for the riders, who have worked so hard.
