Ross Golf Club's membership has been boosted over the last year with a pleasing influx of new lady members. The Lady Captain, Amanda Marshall, held an informal 'Get Together' so that new members could meet each other and the committee over coffee. Lady Vice Captain, Jeanette Forrester, gave everyone a warm welcome and explained that the aims of the Ladies Section is to promote an atmosphere whereby all members feel valued and encouraged to enjoy the game of golf at every level of handicap. Helen Palmer answered questions on handicaps, the new 2012 Golf rules were discussed and Rosemary Williams outlined her role as the County Representative. Finally Judith Landau, the 'C' team Captain, encouraged all the new members to sign up for these friendly matches which give an opportunity to meet and play against members from other local clubs. The 'Get Together' was concluded with a friendly nine holes of golf.
The Section's weekly competition was a Hi/ Lo Foursomes Stableford which was again played in difficult, icy conditions and was won by the pairing of Jose Wilson and Wendy Harris with 34 points, closely followed by the runners up, Pat Beaman and Bridget Billington with 33 points.
