The students and staff from John Kyrle High School who will be visiting Kisiki College in Uganda this summer will, once again, be taking sports kit kindly donated by Ross Juniors Football Club.
The football shirts, many containing the logos of local sponsors, boots and training equipment, will be taken out by the Uganda trip students and staff in mid-July and will be distributed amongst pupils at Kisiki College and the surrounding primary schools.
Headteacher, Nigel Griffiths said that John Kyrle was delighted to be continually associated with Ross Juniors and impressed with these kind gifts to the partner schools in Namutumba.
Mr Griffiths was impressed to hear from Jim Loftus that the club now has 450 members, beginning at the age of three. The club was the first to use the school’s all-weather pitch in 2006 and now hires the facility on a regular basis for the benefit of those in the locality and, increasingly, further afield.
Assistant Head of Sixth Form, Bethan Lambourn, who is leading the 2017 Uganda trip added that the students at Kisiki College are ‘football mad’ and that the kit and equipment will be much appreciated and very well used at the school and in the community.
