ROSS Juniors advanced to the next round of the Ross Cup on Saturday after a convincing 3-0 win against Second Division club, Civil Service.

James Reid, Carl Roberts and Jon Tookey scored the goals for Ross, and although the score at half time was only 1-0, in truth, the Ross goalkeeper Aidan Cook was hardly tested. A series of missed chances and goal line clearances were catalogued in the second half and the score did not reflect the dominance of the home team over the team lying third in the second division.

Ross could now face Hereford City, Toros and either Fownhope Reserves or Weston in the next round of the competition. The victory provided the only highlight in the weekend's programme of Ross Juniors men's football as both the Reserves and the Sunday team fell to disappointing defeats.

Next week, Ross Juniors will play away at Broomy Hill in a league match against Hinton Reserves in a 2.30pm kick off. They will look to make it three wins on the bounce after recovering from some disappointing results early in the season.
