Ross Juniors Sunday were beaten in the County Cup final by Allstars 3-1, at Pegasus FC in Hereford. Already missing stalwart Matt Davies from the line up they were dealt another blow when brother Chris Davies reported in injured on the morning. Further injuries to players during the game and disputed off-side decisions did nothing to help the Ross team.

The opening exchanges were dominated by the favourites, Allstars. Dan Morris in goal had to be alert in the 11th minute with a fine save. Ross finally got going with a good move after 21 minutes. Harry Hall played the ball wide to Andy Francis, the winger crossed for Eli Wooding but his shot was blocked from nine yards.

This miss proved costly as Allstars took the lead in the next minute when a long throw that was not cleared and a low cross was drilled into the net by Tom Boyle. The situation got worse after 35 minutes when captain Sam Loftus went off with a hamstring injury to be replaced by Andrew Densley.

However, Ross responded well to that disappointment. In the 37th minute Damon Beaumont knocked the ball in from close range after Eli Wooding set him up but, much to the bewilderment of Ross, the goal was disallowed for offside. The assistant referee was late in putting the flag up and was wrong to do so.

Ross were now enjoying their best spell of the game. Full back Adam Beaumont almost scored when he got forward in the 39th minute but his effort went over after being set up by his brother Damon. Ross had a fantastic chance with a freekick right on the edge of the Allstars' box after their keeper handled outside the area, but Eli Wooding ballooned it over.
