Despite not having played for almost three months because of poor weather, Ross Juniors U12s battled valiantly to get to a deserved third consecutive cup final at Edgar Street, after a nail-biting penalty shoot-out against Bartestree.
The first half opened tentatively as the boys found their feet. Some end-to-end football gave Ross the better of the chances, the first, a cross-field ball from Harry Edwards, which sent TJ Swallow away down the right to send a lovely cross whistling past the outstretched boot of Tom P, arriving in the box. Moments later, an incisive through-ball from Toby King sent Finn Mudie Jones into a scoring position, only to be flagged just off-side. Bartestree also had their chances, their closest was anticipated well by Jake Winter, who came off his line to gather comfortably. Full report in this week's Gazette.
