On Saturday Ross Juniors played their first home game for almost three months. After the disappointment of losing in the semi final of the cup to Leominster last week, Ross wanted to come back with a bang this week in the Premier League, and they did so with a comfortable 3 – 0 victory over Weobley, with the goals coming from returning Captain Eli Wooding, Andrew Densley and Jack Bray.
Manager Dan Morris welcomed back Eli Wooding and Andrew Densley into the starting line up, along with giving home debuts to Damon and Adam 'Fudge' Beaumont. The main pitch was still too wet to play on, so the game took place on the Talbots pitch. Ross started the game very strongly, although the slightly bobbly pitch did not help Ross' usual passing game, they became more direct in their football trying to play in one of the front three of Wooding, Damon and Bray at any point, on several occasions it almost paid off, with through balls from Hall and Densley almost finding their target. The deserved breakthrough came in the 20th minute, an excellent ball by Damon found Densley in the box who managed to get to the ball first before being clattered by the defender, an easy decision for the referee to point to the penalty spot. Wooding made no mistake from the spot to put Ross 1 up. Ross did not have to wait long for the 2nd goal, on 30 minutes a good bit of inter play between Wooding and Bray found Densley free in the box who finished brilliantly into the bottom corner to give the keeper no chance.
