When Federer would be playing Djokovic on Sunday, July 14th, Goodrich ’A’ttitudes made an early start to travel to Droitwich to play their ’B’ team in Division 3 of the H & W Summer League, in the hope of finishing before the two men walked onto Centre Court at Wimbledon.

First pair, Cheryl Mordecai and Kim Martin, had a tight first rubber, dropping the first set 4-6, but came back strong in the second set to take it 6-0, and the third set 6-3.  Second pair Rachael Wintle and Cath Hutchinson had a similar rubber, taking the first set 6-4, then dropping the second 1-6, but coming back with strength and determination in the third to win it 6-4. The third pair played well too.

Overall this was a great result for the ’A’ttitudes, a 5-1 win, and keeps them in second place behind Ross ’A’.  Following a lovely tea and finishing in time for the Droitwich ladies to watch the Men’s Final, the ’A’ttitudes headed South on the M5 for home. The next match for the ’A’ttitudes will be on Sunday, 28th July at home, when they will play Old Hill. See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
