With Liese Brady at the helm, Ross Ladies hope to build on the fantastic team performance from the week before. Ross played their hearts out and with some positional changes came away with a 3-0 victory.

From the start it was obvious that Ross were in control and with the whole team pushing forward ensured that the control remained with them. The ball pass was fast making the team work hard chasing down the ball and pressing forward as a unit.

The midfield combination of Harriet Stener, Georgie Taylor and Christian Stevenson worked hard supporting the forwards as well as the defence. The team as a whole played much higher allowing the defence of Liese Brady and Kath Jessop got in on the action shooting at goals. Despite Ross shooting at the goal more than they have all season the skill of the Cheltenham keeper kept Ross out. The final moments of the first half, a short corner pushed out by Louise Cross allowed Becky Pass to fire home a well struck ball. Half time score Ross 1-0 up.

The second half saw a determined Ross side start and with the ball travelling from end to end made the ladies work much harder. The ball travelled into the D and with shots on goal from many of the forward line and while the keeper was on the floor, Cross flicked the ball over the keeper to find the net. Within minutes after Ross were back again looking for another goal. This time a well struck ball from the right allowed Lucy Perkins to put the ball away for the final goal of the day.

Claire Vines and Gill Badham worked tirelessly in defence ensuring that Cheltenham was unable to get a clear shot on goals. Holly Belcher put on the keeper kit this week and with some good saves was able to keep effort. Next game home against Stroud on October 30th at 12.30pm.
