Lauren Darkes has gained her second degree black belt in Taekwondo (one level higher than black belt) at just 19 years of age.

She is the youngest ever second dan in her Ross class.

Her instructor, Master Paul Eacock (6th dan), said:?“Lauren has trained with us since she was 12 years old. I have watched her train consistently almost every week since then, surviving her GCSEs and her A levels and moving on to becoming a young adult with a job.”

Paul added:?“I personally think that she is an inspiration to teenagers and young women, showing that just by working hard and enjoying yourself, you can achieve some important goals in life whilst keeping fit and learning some serious self defence skills. I am very proud of her and I hope she continues to train for many years.”

Lauren trains at Tudorville and District Community Centre on Sundays 5-6pm and Wednesdays 6.30pm - 7.30 pm. Beginners are welcome. For more information visit www.britishtkd.co.uk
