Local Kart Racing Champions Stuart and Simon Smith, sponsored by Lucas Motorcycles, had mixed fortunes at the Clay Pigeon Raceway in Dorset last weekend.

Racing in the Rotax Max Evo Summer series, Simon was quicker in qualifying by over a second than his brother, in the damp misty weather.

The first heat saw Simon way in front, enjoying himself against his normally quicker brother, Stuart.

The second heat, the pre-final, saw the tables change as Simon couldn’t get to grips with the torrential downpour.

The sun came out for the final which was a close affair with some great racing. Stuart won the IKR Clay Summer series Championship and Simon came a very respective 4th place.
