After a prolonged wet spell, both sets of players wondered if their pitches would be fit for purpose. Fortunately the sun came out to play, and so did the teams. Brockhampton needed to win the toss but ended up having to bat on a pudding which as long as the bowling was accurate ensured a slow scoring rate. The bowling was accurate. Wickets though did not fall, and for the first time in modern memory the Goodrich opening bowlers didn't bag a wicket in the opening spell. Full report in this week's Gazette.
