Local motorbike racer Luke Jones was at Thruxton on the weekend riding at the British Superbike meeting.Luke, riding his Honda in the 600 Super Sport Class, had two races on Sunday due to bad weather on Saturday. Luke qualified in 12th place, fourth row on the grid. Luke had a good race and finished seventh over the six lap race.The second race, over 13 laps, saw Luke start well and was eighth on lap one, but due to tyre wear towards the end of the race, Luke finished in ninth place.This was Luke's second meeting on his brand new

Honda CBR600, which he picked up from Holland before last week's meet at Brands Hatch. Luke, from Hereford, is aiming for podium finishes in every round this season. He is well supported by his family - including his grandfather, Clive, who is from Ross, and regularly reports to the Gazette office to give the latest on Luke's progress.

Luke is currently sixth in the overall Championship. Luke wishes to thank KGD of Hereford and all of his sponsors. The next meeting is on May 4th, 5th and 6th.
