LUKE Jones the local motor bike racer, was at Snetterton last weekend for the fourth round of the British Championships. Luke, riding in the 600 Supersport Club Class, had practised on Friday and then one session on Saturday morning for the qualifying. He rode well and finished ninth, and third row on the grid. For the first of his two races in the afteroon he was fifth and sixth for most of the race, but due to tyre wear, went to eighth in the race but first in the cup.
For the grid lineup for the second race on the Sunday – calculated by their Saturday times – Luke was sixth fastest, which gave him a second row start.
The race started with Luke making second place for a brief time but was pegged back to fourth for two laps. Then on lap six, when he was lying sixth, two riders crashed. Luke was unlucky as he could not avoid them and clipped one bike, causing him to crash out. Luke had medical attention to his hand but was given the all clear and will be ready for the next round, which is at Knockhill in Scotland in June.
His team are very grateful to KGD of Hereford and all who help Luke.
