Goodrich 2nd XI visited high flying Luctonians on August 16th for their recent Marches League 3 match. Put into bat by the home side, on a damp pitch, Goodrich found batting conditions extremely difficult against the new ball. Sadly their cause was not helped by several poor shots and a calamitous run out, which left them on 25-4. With a potential embarrassing rout looming, it was left to youngsters Jack Waldis and Dylan Fletcher to rebuild the innings. Together they put together an 85 run partnership, with Fletcher eventually dismissed for an excellent 34. Waldis continued to strike the ball powerfully reaching an undefeated 52. A late flurry of boundaries from Howard (10) and Dunsford (11 no) took the final score to a respectable 140-6, although probably 50 less than they would have wished. Full report in this week's paper.
