A charity fishing match held in memory of keen angler, Martin Bilby, at Drummonds Lake, Upton Bishop was a great success.

The match was organised by Martin’s great friend Colin Woakes and Martin’s partner, Erica, on August 15th. There was perfect weather and a great turnout of his fishing friends. The results were first, Ade Stokes, second Steve Smith and third Mark Annis.

It was such a success that, after the raffle, run by Wayne Pearl, the prize giving and the speeches, it was decided that another charity match should be held next year. £400 was raised for Macmillan and St Michael’s Hospice.

Martin sadly passed away on April 2nd, 2015 and a memorial golf charity match will be held next year on April 2nd at South Hereford Golf Club, where Martin was a member.
