In his report as 2013 Ross Seniors Captain, Mike Harris was able to quote many examples to provide assurance to members attending the Seniors Annual General Meeting that their interests at Ross Golf Club were in very capable hands.

The past 12 months had witnessed the introduction of several new initiatives and Mike considered it a privilege to have Chaired and influenced a Seniors Committee that had effectively contributed a great deal in the best interests of everyone. In this respect, Mike also thanked fellow members for their valued support, and is handing over to his successor, Richard Escolme, matters which are in excellent shape and equally Richard has much to look forward to.

Richard, as Seniors Captain, will have Richard Topping as his Vice Captain, with the strengths of the Seniors Committee being retained through the experience and energies of Patrick Curtis and Tim Rigden, and Honorary Treasurer, Graeme Forrester. In 2014 a succession planning initiative will see Honorary Secretary, Keith Ray, being shadowed by an experienced Alan Thompson, to enable the administrative effectiveness of the team to continue for years to come. There was considerable praise too and a deserved presentation made for the tireless work carried out by Jim Millar, in whose care an early morning Ball in the Bag get together enables players of all golfing capabilities to know that they can be assured of company at the Club, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Prior to the lunch that preceded the AGM, 60 members took part in a 16 holes Greensomes stableford and the randomness of the draw was somewhat nullified through 2012/13 Winter Pairs League Champions Richard Nightingale and Ken Vowles being drawn together. Richard and Ken, in amassing 41 points in the event, were therefore able to collect the top prizes and receive the Winter Pairs Trophy to make it another memorable occasion. In the stableford event, Nick Swan and Colin Burchell claimed 2nd prize with 39 points and 3rd prize winners were Neville Ovens and Richard Mackley with 38 points, just getting ahead on count-back from the other 38 pointers David Williams/Michael Ludlow and Gerald Turner/Richard Escolme.
