Ross lost this game in the first twelve minutes, as they conceded three tries and found themselves 21 points down with the contest hardly underway.

Missed tackles early on were the culprit and the visitors took advantage. Ross spent the remaining 68 minutes trying to put right the poor start. Two tries, one in each half from the lock partners Joe and Mike Davies, the first converted by Chay Brine put Ross in with a fighting chance. With 30 minutes to go they were 21-12 down and in the ascendancy, as they entered the final quarter they were in full control, five metres from the visitors line and with possession. Props Matt Redman and Wayne Williams drove close, quickly followed by Joe and Casey, the defence held firm, Ross went wide and Dan Field was held up a yard short, but they were penalised at the ruck and St Brendans cleared their lines. A score there would have put Ross only two points behind with twenty minutes to play and they would probably have gone onto win the game. However they were left two scores behind and as they chased the game errors crept in, the visitors held their defensive organisation and Ross' six match unbeaten run came to an end.

The Nigel Oates man of the match was Casey Morgan for another strong showing in the back row. Next Saturday Ross 1st are away to Gloucester Spartans and the seconds are at home a 2.30pm kick off at Greytree.
