THE Ross-on-Wye Tennis Club mixed team secured a great 3-1 win against Hallow D at home.

Teaming up as the first pair were Charlie Bowden and Manda Kiernan, who won their first match after a long and hard third set tie-breaker battle.

The second match was a more comfortable win for Charlie and Manda winning 6-0, 6-2.

Wendy Badham and James Mason took up position as the second pair giving a great battle to win their first match against Hallow.

During the second match, Wendy and James played very well, making the visitors work for every point.

But they eventually lost out, resulting in a 3-1 home win for Ross to end the night.

This Thursday (September 15) sees a members’ meeting to hear from the management committee about the club’s progrss, performance and plans for Ross Tennis Centre, and to hear from players about how they would like to see it develop in the coming years.

This will also be an opportunity for members to express interest in becoming involved in the organisation and management of RTC in either a formal or informal capacity.

The meeting at Ross Sports Centre starts at 7.30pm.
