It’s been a busy time for the Monross-Trailblazers over the last week. Seven members of the team took part in the second, out of three, 5k series, hosted by the Hereford Couriers running club on Wednesday, May 3rd. This was a fast race and full of personal best achievements.

Out of the team, Andrew Stephens came home in 17 minutes, seven seconds. This was closely followed by Gavin Jones in 17.16, with Bobby Prichard shortly after in 18.53, and Gerry Meredith in 19.45. Nigel Baker followed in 19.50, with James Fletcher coming home in 20.35. Vanessa Ball followed close in 22.08.

Monross members, Gavin Jones and James Fletcher, took to the Steam Bunny Stomp on Saturday, May 6th, This was a seven mile(ish) tough 1826ft elevation race across the hills above Pontypool. Gavin and James both finished respectively in the race.

Then on Sunday 7th, members from the club took part in the Bluebell Blunder. This was a challenging 10k event along the trails of the Offas Dyke path in the picturesque Wye Valley.

Luke Gray was the first team member home with a time of 48 minutes, 27 seconds in eighth place. Bobby Prichard followed in 15th place with a time of 51.28. Ian Gray came in shortly after in 66th place with a time of one hour, one minute and 50 seconds.

Monross-Trailblazers meet on Wednesday evenings at 18:30, alternating between Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye. On Wednesday, May 10th the club will be meeting at Fernbank Road, in Ross-on-Wye.
